The weather has been amazing, which encouraged me to buy a few more things more weather appropriate. I loved these silver pumps, they're so shiny you can see yourself in them. They went into the sale a few days ago, and I also had a gift card which meant I only ended up paying 8 pounds.
I also bought two of the same knitted tank tops, I loved the colour and I thought I could make it into a gathered sleeveless dress, which is why I bought two. I will post a tutorial on how to make a dress out of two tanks and possibly two t shirts as I've been meaning to make a t shirt dress.
I found this vintage H&M Kids hanger that's been in my wardrobe for ages, which I thought looked quite cute.

Amethyst Necklace DIY

I've been wanting to make one of these quartz pendants for a while now and I found this Amethyst stone lurking on one of my drawers, and made it straight away. When seeing the final outcome I realised it would have made a great and also easy DIY post, but I've got some pictures and I'll just explain how I made it.

WHAT YOU NEED...

Silver/gold long chain

Silver/gold flexible metal wire 35 inches (found in craft / hardware shops)

Silver/gold thicker flexible wire to form the loop (bail) 5 inches (found in craft / hardware shops)

Quartz crystal of your choice

You can almost see from the pictures how its made; starting with the pendant itself, wrap the thinner wire around the crystal securely until you've used around one half of the wire. Then bend the thicker wire, tucking it inside the thinner wire to form the loop (bail) for the chain (this may be unclear, but you can see the ticker wire underneath the thinner wire in the second picture). Continue wrapping the long thinner wire around the pendant making sure the bail is secure. Then you simply place your chain through the loop and viola!

I always love feedback and comments so please let me know your opinion of the post.

Gillian Zinser for Institute

Gillian Zinser, the stunning 90210 star known as Ivy Sullivan is by far my favourite characters in the show; she also has brilliant style which she incorporated and translates into her role. I recently discovered this video of her photo shoot for Institute Magazine, I love the styling and the pieces shot, all of which are simplistic in colour but detailed in texture, and how they achieved to style her in a way she would style herself. Institute Magazine's site is well worth a look, there's an array of editorials and other videos and interview with celebrities away form the limelight.

Fashion & Textiles Museum

Yesterday for my Art and Textiles homework we had to visit a gallery of our choice, so me and my friend visited the Tate Modern and Britain which was lovely; and we ended up visiting the Fashion and Textiles Museum. Its such a small place but it was amazing, so I had to blog about it. There are only a few rooms, and two floors but its presented so well and frequently updated so I shall pay another visit soon. I would describe it as a three dimensional issue of Elle or Vogue, well worth a visit!

Pure London

Last weekend I helped out at Pure London, as a sales assistant at the Danish brand, Ilse Jacobsen. The brand is well known for their Wellington boots, Alexa Chung has even been seen wearing a pair; but they also have a lovely clothing and shoe range. Pure London is fashion buying event in London for buyers and sellers, there were also fashion shows happening hourly, and I managed to go and watch one during lunch. And I happened to see the amazing Zandra Rhodes, and managed to squeeze in a few photos until she left the stage; I'm still curious to how she keeps her hair that pink! There was also a fashion forecast talk, my favourite trends they mentioned were Radical Neutrality and Hyper Culture, looking to be big for next autumn.

Elle Collections Spring Summer 2012

Today, I brought myself to buy my first Elle Collections, while trying to ignore the hefty price. Flicking through the pages in the newsagents sold it for me, it includes some of the best shows for spring summer 12; outtakes, behind the scenes shots, and even a little questionnaire from a few designers, written in their studios.

I am gradually gaining more followers which I'm very pleased about, and an increasing number of comments which is great! Thank you all who have been reading my blog, and please do follow me if you enjoy my blog.
